What and Why


Ministry Placement Network (MPN) is an independent, Christian organization whose purpose is:

"To equip churches, ministry candidates, and the organizations who serve them (denominations, associations, seminaries, Bible colleges, and others) to expedite healthy, fruitful, and fulfilling matches between the right church and the right candidate at the right time!"

At any given time, between 8% and 15% of all churches in America have vacancies on their staff. Every one to two years, these failed or forsaken ministries are replaced by an entirely new, vacant set.

This high rate of turn-over is undeniable proof that candidates and churches need more than a bulletin board to achieve satisfying matches!

Most search committee members do their jobs with much sacrifice, but little or no experience, often simply mimicking the mistakes of others. Similarly, few candidates have had more than a couple of lectures to equip them to make one of the most important decisions of their lives.

But when committed Christian leaders with experience and expertise equip both churches and candidates with the right information and the right process,

the result is fulfilled candidates, fruitful congregations, longer tenures and limited interims.

This is what MPN is about and why this ministry is needed.
